About PCD

Opportunity & Achievement

Our community is strengthened when people bring different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. At PCD, we listen and learn from one another, building a school community that reflects the breadth of the world around us and helps students develop cultural awareness and a deep sense of belonging.

At Providence Country Day School, every student is known, respected, and valued as an individual. We prepare students to listen thoughtfully, engage with ideas and experiences different from their own, and think critically across perspectives.

Our goal is to prepare students for the neighborhoods, colleges, and workplaces they will join, where they will work alongside people of many backgrounds and viewpoints. We want every student to feel safe, supported, and challenged so they can learn, grow, and emerge as leaders who engage respectfully with others and recognize that our differences strengthen the community.

Belonging means more than a welcoming environment. It means every student and family feels seen, respected, and valued. When our young people feel they belong, they learn better, participate more fully, and grow into confident, compassionate people.

Community Involvement & Clubs

PRIDE Alliance
Pride Alliance welcomes all students and supports those who identify within the LGBTQ+ community and our allies in weekly meetings.  This group’s main goal is to make PCD an increasingly accepting place where each student feels empowered to be themselves and strengthen our community in the process. Pride participates in activities such as community awareness events, bonding activities, and educational enrichment programming.  The group chose the name ‘Pride Alliance’ or ‘Pride’  to encourage those coming to have pride in themselves and their identities. We include ‘Alliance’ to remind our community that we are a group that sticks together.

PCD Students of Color Union:
SOCU aims to build and strengthen the solidarity among our student community at Providence Country Day. This group meets once a week and hosts events throughout the course of the school year. SOCU activities include cultural sharing and community building events for all students.

Providence Country Day Opportunity & Achievement Board Subcommittee
