Summer at PCD

We have an exciting summer planned on the PCD campus! Our summer camp is growing, with several new programs added this year, including Textile & Design, Robotics, and a camp designed just for PreK students.

We’re also bringing back many returning favorites, including our popular Culinary Camp, engaging Arts & Exploration Camp, action-packed Multi-Sport Camp, and our brain-teasing LEGO Engineering and Chess camps.

Join us for all seven weeks or choose the programs that fit your schedule week by week. Energy is high, new friendships are formed, and summer smiles last all day!

Extended Day is offered from 8:00–9:00 AM and 3:00–5:00 PM for $10 per hour.
This service must be scheduled in advance. Registration for Extended Day will open closer to the start of camp.

Lego Engineering Camp

Attention Lego lovers! Join us for an incredible adventure with Legos!

This amazing program encourages STEM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) learning by applying real-world concepts in physics, engineering, and architecture through engineer-designed projects such as: amusement park, animal themed projects, and scientific themes.

Lego Camp Details

Weeks 3 and 4: Groups available for ages 9-14
Weeks 5-7: Groups available for ages 5-8
$375 per session

Art & Exploration Camp

An interactive summer day camp for children ages 5–14 that combines studio arts and outdoor exploration.

Campers will be introduced to painting, drawing, and sculpture while they investigate and learn about the natural world. By combining these two disciplines, campers will discover art, nature, and creativity in the studios and the 18 acres of woodlands on the PCD campus.

Older campers (11-14), will be immersed in an intensive studio experience, learning new techniques and developing leadership skills. This portion of the camp was formally Leadership and Environmental Art Portfolio Project (LEAPP) but now is under the umbrella of Arts & Exploration camp.

My two girls have been going to PCD arts and exploration camp for the past two summers. They absolutely love it!! I love that it is a small tight knit group. The staff is so friendly and caring to me and my girls. Certainly not your average art camp. They will most definitely be going back this summer!

Our 9-year-old daughter has really enjoyed PCD A&E for three years. She loves the excitement of making art projects that are inspiring and more involved than what she might do at school during the year. She has loved bonding with the warm and nurturing counselors and learning about our local environment and our world.

Culinary Camp

A hands-on summer experience for children ages 5-14, taught by professional chefs.

Each day focuses on a different food course (soups, salads and appetizers, entrees, and sides and desserts), with emphasis on nutrition, history, food science, flavor profiling and layering, and presentation. Every week we will learn new meals and dishes from all over the world.

We have a professional chef and nutritionist teach campers about the importance of balanced diets and make the delicious meals themselves. By the end of their experience, your camper will come home and (hopefully) cook dinner for you!

Culinary Camp Details

Multi-sport Camp

Game on!

Our Multi-sport camp is intended to expose campers to a variety of sports and activities that promote regular physical activity, instill confidence, teamwork, good sportsmanship, and a life-long love of sports.

This is a fun and instructional program led by PCD coaches and athletes with age appropriate skill building activities and recreation. This is a great opportunity for campers to develop a variety of athletic skills in a supportive and fun environment.

Multi-Sport Camp Details

Weeks 1-3: Groups available for ages 8-14
Weeks 4-7: Groups available for ages 5-8
$350 per week (Week 2 is $300)

Textile and Design Camp

Created and run by Mrs. Neel, this program nurtures creativity, hands-on learning, and eco-conscious thinking.

Each week, students will visit the Creative Reuse Center to explore the power of repurposed materials and sustainable design practices.

Throughout the program, children will engage in a variety of textile arts including weaving, sewing, embroidery, crochet, knitting, and color theory to name a few! These activities build fine motor skills, encourage creative problem-solving, build confidence, and foster an appreciation for resourcefulness and environmental stewardship. Students will take home their creations throughout the week. All experience levels are welcome!

Textile and Design Camp Details

Ages 9-14

Robotics Camp

Make your creative ideas real! Learn how to design and 3D print your own creations and solve fun engineering problems.

Campers will learn how to design and 3D print their coolest ideas. From unique backpack tags to complete lightsabers campers will learn the basics of 3D modeling and 3D printing as well as problem solving, creative thinking and perseverance. They will also engage in fun engineering challenges designed to foster creativity and teamwork.

This new and exciting program taught by PCD alumni aims to foster a love for engineering and creativity. Campers will be able to 3D print and take home all of their creations that they design at camp.

Robotics Camp Details

Ages 9-14
$375 per week (Week 2 is $350)

Chess Camp

The staff is comprised of World Champions, International Masters, and enthusiastic instructors.

Chess Master Connections (CMC) instructors have inspired and delighted their students with gifted, fun chess instruction. The life skills of winning and losing well, creating and following a plan, and the importance of creativity are masterfully imparted throughout their instruction.

At PCD's Summer Chess Camp, your child will increase logic and reasoning skills, improve decision-making skills, develop problem-solving techniques, increase self-confidence, improve organizational habits, and increase patience and persistence.

Daily activities include problem-solving, chess tactics, typical mates, end games, blitz exhibitions, history of chess & art, good character and life skills, sports and games, bughouse, and more

Tuition includes a chess set, CMC T-shirt, individually wrapped snacks, and water.

Chess Camp Details

Beginners through advanced players; boys and girls WELCOME!

PreK Camp

A brand new program for our youngest campers!

Preschool camp experience is the perfect first camp for children ages 3-4. Come join us for some fun art programs, games, sports, water play, and much more. We will hike on our nature trails, play on the fantastic playgrounds, and make friends as we explore our first camp programs. Quiet period will be offered each day for those who still rest. Campers must be fully potty trained in order to attend.

PreK Camp Details

Ages 3-4 (must be fully potty trained)
$375 per week (Week 2 is $325)

Baseball Camp

We will use our baseball facilities on Dickerman Diamond and Annex and focus on learning the fundamentals of throwing, fielding, hitting, baserunning, and team play. Instruction during this four-day camp will come from PCD coaches and varsity players.

The camp is for ages 9-12 and will run from 9 AM - Noon. Early drop off is available and campers can join the PCD Sports Camp for the afternoon for a full day experience.

$250 for half day (Week 2)
$350 for full day (Week 2, including multi sport camp in the afternoon)

One-on-One Basketball RI's summer basketball camp takes place in the school's spacious field house.

One-on-One Basketball RI provides year-round personal basketball training for developing players with comprehensive, skilled basketball instruction to players of all skill levels. Players are grouped by age and ability, and will have an enjoyable experience while improving their basketball skills.
