  1. Welcome and President’s Report- Kathy O’Grady
    • Winter Clothing Drive:
      • Sarah Bates collected coats for the day after thanksgiving donation event in front of the state house 
        • Coats and winter gear (items that are gently used or new)
        • 5 boxes total, one in every building
        • Sarah will take coats at the Hot Club up until the day before Thanksgiving
      • QR codes, for cash donations, are on the donation boxes and on our PCD Family Association FB page https://www.facebook.com/groups/1036078796507879
    • POP-UP store for school branded merchandise 
      • Successful event - will have more in the Spring
      • Located at the end of drop off line, near gazebo
      • Email Melissa Mendonca should you want merchandise Medonnamendonca@providencecountryday.org
      • Holiday tea will have a merchandise table
    • SIP, STROLL AND SHOP
      • Vendors include: Frog & Toad, J Marcel, Studio Hop, Olive del Mondo, and Rhody Craft 
      • Partial proceeds come back to the school
      • Event is December 3 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
      • Wine, cheese and crackers will be served.
      • Event is open to all friends and family
    • Shopping Apps 
      • Wendy Sherdian has set up a box tops initiative for the school
      • Funds go directly to the school
      • Amazon no longer has a Smile program and Strop and Shop discontinued their A+ program 
    • Class gathering 
      • Will ask the class coordinator to organize a class gathering
      • School will donate $150 towards the event
      • You can merge with a class above or a class below you
    • New Family Mentor Program 
      • Family Association and the administration will pair up in the Spring to coordinate new families 
      • Need parent volunteers to be mentor families
  • Welcome family and offer support
  • Provide context/helpful information, i.e. school directory, grounds/building information, logistics, carpooling, etc.

  1. Head of School Report- Kevin Folan
    • Quick updates – quick intros everyone
    • Been busy since Oct 7th 
    • Great chowder day weekend 
    • Friday PCD had a reunion dinner 
    • Special event to recognize students from 2020
    • Saturday, during the day great day and great wine testing 
    • Sunday had 115 people on campus for induction of athletes
    • Celebration of life for Coach Bob Dickerman – former teacher – been affiliated with the school since WWII
    • Following weekend – college weekend – college counselors come and talk 
    • November 1st open house for admissions for the next year 
    • Right before Halloween we had a pumpkin contest
    • Event to support veterans on veterans’ day 
    • Knight of nights – 30th alumni and parents 
    • Holiday tea, December 18th 
    • Repurposing classrooms in the lower school and middle school to expand classrooms to include more families 
  2. Development Update-Mark McLaughlin 
    • Saturday afternoon luncheon had members of Woodriff and red door society come out – alumni and former parents
      • Build community 
      • Went over and showed people the progress on the theatre building
      • Play for PCD – May 2nd and may 4th 
        • Split it between Saturday and Monday
          1. Have families join for Saturday night event 
          2. Fundraiser and Friend-raiser 
          3. Beginning to organize and plan for that weekend 
          4. Knight and Day giving in Feb – big social media focus on giving 
            1. John diamond will be instrumental on it 
        • John talks about the Oct parent challenge, parents and class coordinators drove the boat raised over $20,000 – 132 total new donors – all time record 
          1. Appreciate support and generosity 
      • Jahdae Knights of Night – Bellani – downstairs in the atrium – Beatrice Hotel 
      • 35 RSVPS
        • More space 
        • Parents and alums Dec 9th at 6pm 
        • Looking for more people to help with Play for PCD 
        • Saturday night is more focused on parents
          1. Dinner and auction
          2. Monday is the golf outing
          3. Do parent outreach 
          4. Meetings begin Jan. – monthly 
            1. Meetings turn to weekly as you get closer 
            2. Need people to sell raffle tickets, help with registration 
          5. DONATE goods for the auction 
            1. Both online and in person auction
  3. Admissions Update - Mel Parsons Update
    • Dec 1st financial aid deadline
    • Re-enrollment information around January 23rd 
    • Holiday tea will be responsible for holiday tea basket
      • Funds go towards adopt a family
      • Money go towards buying gifts for families who otherwise couldn’t 
      • Looking for donations
        • Grade level buddy groups have been assigned a theme 
        • Tickets will be sold – cash or credit card 
        • Looking to collect items for the baskets by December 15th 
  4. Athletic Update -Marquis Harper
    • Thank you to all the departments and people who went before him – thank you to the leadership, admissions, fundraising
      • Three playoff teams 
      • State champions for tennis team
      • All state cross country runner competes for NE
      • Accolades from other sports: soccer, football
      • Boys team is one happy family for the time being
      • Girls will be splitting into A & B soon
      • Information forthcoming on swim information
      • Tennis will have 2 groups 
        • Basketball will be splitting into tennis
      • Varsity sports will be starting soon 
  5. Next FA meeting is January 6th, Tuesday

*Sarah Bates has been able to give out 100s of coats and given out early to support our unhoused families during this cold snap
