Upper School Robotics Team Coach - Part-Time
Providence Country Day School, an independent school serving students in grades PK-12, seeks an experienced, enthusiastic coach for our Upper School robotics team.
PCD’s robotics program encourages design thinking, creative collaboration, intellectual rigor, and a results-oriented approach to problem solving. The robotics coach will provide leadership, supervision, and organization to the after-school robotics program and robotic competitions. The Upper School robotics club meets primarily after the academic day ends (3:00 p.m.) with the frequency and duration of meeting and practice times determined by the coach and scheduled around preparation for robotics competitions. The team has primarily competed in NE FIRST Competitions and there is robust student interest in the program. The ideal candidate will have experience with coding and robotics, and in mentoring or teaching students in grades 9-12.
PCD encourages collaboration within the faculty and staff community. The Upper School robotics coach is encouraged to foster connections with the middle school coach and our STEAM faculty to explore overlap between the robotics programs and curriculum.
Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s degree (or higher). In addition to coaching, additional opportunities may exist for this position to impact the lives of students through academics, athletics, learning center tutoring or other extracurricular activities.
Candidates of color, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply. We strive to have a team that reflects the diversity of our students and families. It is important to us that our students can see themselves in the adults that surround them each day. PCD is an affirmative action, equal opportunity employer. Interested candidates should contact Jennifer Aitken, Head of Upper School, at
