Emma Holland ’29 Makes a Splash at State Championships
Freshman Emma Holland ’29 delivered an exceptional performance at the RIIL Girls Swimming State Championships, making an immediate impact in her debut season and emerging as one of the meet’s standout competitors.
Emma captured the State Championship title in the 100-meter breaststroke, showcasing both skill and determination against top swimmers from across Rhode Island. She also earned a second-place finish in the 200 individual medley, further highlighting her versatility in the pool.
In addition to her individual success, Emma played a key role in the team’s relay events, helping secure 6th place finishes in both the 200 medley relay and the 200 freestyle relay. Her contributions were instrumental in the team’s overall 6th place finish in the state—an impressive accomplishment in a highly competitive field.
"I was just trying to keep pushing and not give up," she said. "When I looked up at the board, I was so excited. I couldn't stop smiling. I was so happy!"
