        4. Nov. EP Police training with teachers
        5. Feb. EP police training with parents and adults
        6. Barricade doors, fight back
          1. Looking back on Columbine if students and teachers had been evacuated – more lives would have been saved
          2. Understanding the best ages – to protect kids – not traumatize them
        7. Brand new phone system – campus alert system
 
  1. Admissions Update- Melanie Parsons
    • Thank everyone for their contributions on holiday tea baskets
    • Items came thru in the last week
    • Funds from the baskets go to – adopt family
    • Middle School / High school – Lund Hall Learning Hub
    • Lower school – Metcalf Hall
    • Re-enrollment contracts Jan. 23rd
      • News / information going out from Kevin to families eligible
      • Feb 1. Is the first deadline for new families
 
  1. Development Update-Mark McLaughlin
    • Thankful to be able to send food over to Mathewson St Church
    • Having done service projects with students in the past – more service activities we can become involved in – we are better off of as a society
    • Run the only HOT breakfast on weekend mornings
    • Benefitting the whole school
      • Feb 10th – Knight Day of Giving
        1. Run 24 hours straight
        2. Social media and emails
        3. Play the game (schools’ motto)
        4. Messaging from Alumni – families – staff
        5. Participation is key – matches and challenges will be happening throughout the 24 hours
        6. Alumni and parent challenges
        7. Many ways to get involved
          1. Stand outside, do a video, do a match – be an advocate
        8. ALL MONEY GOES BACK TO ANNUAL FUND
 


  1. Athletic Director - Marquis Harper
    • Thanking the FA for allowing us to secure the items in the field house
    • Equipment room is always a mess and things go missing
    • For every team to secure their items
      • Coaches will have a key to items in season and keep it locked
      • Kids will have extra balls to play with during the day without disrupting the new system
  2. Questions / Closing
 
      • Question: reducing hate – building a community based on empathy and vulnerability – missing from violence piece – social / emotional learning
        1. Biggest thing with Mel screening candidates – real alignment with what we are doing – lean into conversations around DEIB
        2. Great non-profit out of CO – Feb 5th
          1. Empathy building – kindness
          2. Alignment with campus and families
            1. Doing this with Rachel’s Challenge
    • How can we do more community service days with students?
      • Students are involved via PCD Baseball
      • Different groups throughout the community
      • Families participate in the coat and food drive
      • Group doing art being sent to Ukarine schools
      • Group doing pet drive
      • Kids in upper school have to do a certain amount of service hours during the year
    • Doing a mentor / protégé program with new families
      • Including new families to get involved
      • Get parents for Nights for Knight / Play for PCD
      • Be able to support new families with PCD lingo – set up new families with existing families
      • Be better – be more involved
      • Each class will receive from $150 from FA to do a night out (parent night out)
        1. Can pair with another class to double funds
        2. Coordinating the event
      • Babysitting program – for parent night out
May 1st Teacher appreciation week – sidewalk chalk
