Performing Arts

Through participation in the performing arts, students develop self-confidence and poise, as well as time management and memorization skills.

Beginning in the ninth grade, students may elect to participate in a variety of performing arts electives. A student may participate in PCD choir or instrumental ensemble each year, as well as explore a variety of electives offered in music theory, public speaking and stage class.

A very active theater company, the PCD Players, also provides opportunities for acting, as well as scene and set design, set building and lighting. The company produces two major productions each year.

PCD performing artists experience growth in understanding and appreciation for the abundant artistic beauty around them, and they develop the ability to let their voices be the instrument of that growth.
