Providence Country Day Welcomes New Members to Board of Trustees

Providence Country Day is pleased to announce five new members to the Board of Trustees: Rodman Black, Sara Read Cote, Robert Goldberg, Kenneth Ryvicker, and Jonathan Savage. All five are alumni of PCD, with backgrounds in business, finance, or law.

Rodman (Rick) Black graduated from PCD in 1971. He attended Dartmouth College and received his MBA in Finance from DePaul University. Black worked in business for forty years, specializing in insurance brokerage. He had national, middle-market leadership roles with both Johnson & Higgins and Marsh and was the head of office with two regional brokers. He retired from Arthur J. Gallagher in 2015, but worked as a consultant for the firm until 2017. Black has been married to Annie for 45 years, and has two children and four grandchildren.

Sara Read Cote attended PCD and was one of the first female "lifers" graduating in 2000. She graduated from Brown University in 2004 with a BA in International Relations. After graduating from Brown, Cote married Chris Cote, PCD Class of 2000. She is currently the Director of Operations at London Health Administrators, Ltd. in East Providence, alongside Chris, the Director of Business Development. Cote was inducted into the PCD Athletic Hall of Fame in 2015. She lives in Rehoboth, MA with her husband and two daughters.

Robert Goldberg graduated from PCD in 1969. He attended George Washington University and received his Juris Doctor from the University of Tulsa College of Law. A partner at Goldberg Law Offices since 1976, he has also served as a Rhode Island State Senator and the State Minority Leader. Goldberg lives in South Kingstown with his wife, Maureen.

Kenneth Ryvicker graduated from PCD in 1987 and received a B.S. in Business Management from Ithaca College in 1991. He is a resident of Barrington, where he resides with his wife Bonnie, and sons Jacob (PCD Class of 2019) and Eric (PCD Class of 2022). Ryvicker is a Commercial Banker with Rockland Trust Company In Waltham, MA and specializes in corporate financing and real estate development.

Jonathan Savage graduated from PCD in 1975. He attended the University of Rochester and received his Juris Doctor from Case Western Reserve University Law School. Savage is a founding partner at Shechtman Halperin Savage, LLP, where he chairs multiple departments. He has extensive experience in business representation and with public sector and governmental services and agencies. Savage has been awarded the AV Preeminent rating through Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings, the highest rating based on legal ability and ethics.
