PCD Lacrosse Star Shane McDonough '21 to Play for Iroquois National Team

For Starting Attackman Shane McDonough '21, closing his sophomore year on the PCD Varsity Lacrosse team with more than 100 career points wasn't enough of a banner season. The young athlete will also compete with the Iroquois National Lacrosse Team's feeder team – the Road Warriors – as they face the national high school teams from Israel and Puerto Rico later this month.

The Iroquois National Lacrosse team is currently ranked third in the world by the Federation of International Lacrosse after winning Bronze at the 2018 World Lacrosse Championship. As a Road Warrior, McDonough – a member of the Schaghticoke tribe - is one of the top Haudenosaunee players in the Iroquois Nationals Development team program.

This season, McDonough recently surpassed 60 points, topping his record of 47 freshman year. Last year on the PCD/St. Raphael co-op Varsity Lacrosse team, McDonough was named RIIL Rookie of the Year and Leading Freshman Scorer (27 goals, 19 assists) for Rhode Island.
