Boston University Expert Speaks on Positive Teen Digital, Social Use on April 23

On Tuesday, April 23, Providence Country Day School will host Dr. Jill Walsh, founder of Digital Aged, for an evening program focused on helping families develop healthy boundaries around technology use. A sociologist, researcher, and lecturer at Boston University, Walsh is one of the leading experts on adolescent development and social media use and has counseled thousands of parents, educators, and teens on how to foster positive and open communication around technology.

In a series of workshops this winter, Walsh met with PCD faculty and student groups to present on current trends in digital media use among teens. Professional development sessions for faculty educated teachers on the academic and social opportunities and challenges for students with technology, video games and phones. Students met with Walsh by grade level to reflect on individual technology use and learn new ways to reframe their digital lives in a positive, intentional way.

The "Adolescent Use of Social Media" with Dr. Jill Walsh program will begin at 6:00 p.m. in the Corkery Auditorium.
