What is Parent Giving?
Gifts from current parents account for approximately 30% of our Annual
Fund contributions. These unrestricted funds support all the annual
expenses of educating our students—from teacher benefits and salaries to
financial aid, to basketballs and uniforms. Because tuition covers
only 92% of these annual expenses, all families are, in effect,
receiving financial aid. We rely on the charitable giving of parents,
alumni, faculty, and friends to make up the difference. The Annual Fund
runs from July 1 to June 30.
How will my child benefit?
Because the Annual Fund supports yearly expenses, when parents
contribute their gifts have an immediate impact on current programming.
Through the Annual Fund you will be supporting the School across every
venue and enable your child to benefit from small classes, exceptional
faculty, and the multiple and varied opportunities that characterize the
PCD experience.
How will I be solicited?
You will receive a mailing in the fall and you may also receive a phone
call from an Annual Fund volunteer to help answer questions pertaining
to your Annual Fund contribution.
How much should I contribute?
We hope that you appreciate the need for everyone in our community to
contribute to the success of our School by way of donations to the
Annual Fund, and that you consider making PCD a philanthropic priority,
especially while your child is a student here. Your gift to PCD has the
potential to accomplish much more than a similar gift to a larger
institution and every gift is greatly valued. Individual Annual Fund
gifts range from $25 - $25,000, Leadership Gifts begin at $1,000 and we
encourage all parents to give according to their own financial
circumstances. All contributions to the Annual Fund are tax deductible.
