Upper School students have a three season requirement, two of which must be as a contributor to an interscholastic sports team. At the junior varsity level, emphasis is placed on learning physical skills, knowledge, and rules. Participation and learning to "play the game" are important priorities, and it is anticipated that all team members will play in every game.
The varsity level is defined as an advanced level of play; students are expected to start the season in proper condition, have the necessary skills, and know basic strategies and all rules. The primary goal at this level is to develop the strongest, most competitive team, and students may not play in every game at this level. The varsity level provides excellent preparation for students to play at the collegiate level.
