Each student must make an appointment with the College Counselor to discuss summer visits and interviews, and to define more clearly goals and aspirations for college.  The student should have at least one application filled out by this time, especially the personal essay.  There will be group meetings when school begins, but regular individual conferences must be the pattern so that all our resources to help students can be put to the best use.  Each student must keep a record of visits, interviews, SAT Test registration numbers, check numbers and dates.  There is a great deal of paperwork involved in college admissions procedures, and orderly record keeping becomes crucial.

July    Parental Statements returned to the College Counselor.

October    Early Decision, Early Action and Rolling Decision candidates complete applications and all students return signed permission for release of transcripts.

November    Early Decision and Early Action applications due at colleges.

September - December    All applications must be completed by students and sent to the colleges. Students must also insure that two teacher recommendations are sent to each school (see pages 10-13).

October, November & December    SAT Reasoning and Subject Tests will be offered for Seniors.  Students can take only one battery of  tests on each day.  The normal course is to take the Reasoning Test in October or November and Subject Tests in November or December.  Remember, it is up to the student to check college requirements for tests.

It is also the student’s responsibility to list all the colleges to which he or she must send scores at the time of the final College Board registration.

All scores from previous SAT tests are included in these reports to colleges, unless score choice is elected.  See College Board website for details.

Late November    Financial Aid Night.

December    Early Decision and Early Action results from most colleges which have these plans.

Winter    Early Decision II, Early Action and Rolling Admissions results.

Mid-April    All decisions by colleges, except Waiting List students.

May 1    Advanced Placement Tests are given during two weeks in early May.
