| March | Students are encouraged to use March vacation to make initial visits to colleges and universities. |

| April/May | SAT Reasoning Test for all juniors. Family conferences with college counselor. |

| May 1 | Completed Common Application, with essay is due. |

| May | Parents and students should make some tentative plans about what colleges to consider. Such considerations as academic programs, geographical location, size, campus facilities and overall cost might be part of this preliminary survey. The student, parents, and the college counselor discuss a range of colleges that match the student's career plans, interests, and abilities. By the end of the junior year all students should have made some plans for summer college visits. |
